My name is Brittany Little. I am currently at Junior at Radford University majoring in Website Development and minoring in Business Management. If you would like more information about me, please visit About Me
Course:
I made this final project website for my Coms326 Web Productions class.
Purpose:
The purpose of this project was to show my creativity through a useful, informative, and entertaining website. This website appeals to adventurous people who wanting to find information out about an experience of their lifetime.
Sources:
For the website, I used many different search engines such as google and yahoo to find information on white water rafting on the upper gauley. So sites that I found very useful were:
- NCB4 news
- Gazette-Mail
- Rapids of the Gauley River Video Tour
- Upper Gauley Rapids
- Gauley River At Wikipedia.com
Inspirations:
I got my main inspiration after I went white water rafting on the upper gauley river this fall. After having the experience of a lifetime for myself I figure I should show everybody else what it is like for themselves.
Evaluation
Overall I feel my website turned out better than I thought it would. I faced many difficulties through out this last part of the semester. Trying to get my video to the right format and then trying to be able to using it in a video editor such as Windows Movie Maker or IMovie. One of the most satisfying thing I discovered and learned through out this project was finding Screenr.com to help my take screen shot of my video and Color Schema Designer.com. If I had more time to work on this webpage I would research more about the particular class V rapids history to include on their pages and I would probably add more images to grab the viewers attention. On Radford server, I could figure out everything I was trying to do but on yola.com servers I could figure out how to copy my html code and be able to transfer the pictures to the places I wanted them to be. Another thing I would do if I had more time, I would try other web hosting servers to put my website on.
